Program Features
As part of the SIWJ program students intern 4 days a week, while participating in a seminar course held on Fridays.

Living in Washington, DC
The Semester in Washington Journalism Program is the only internship program where students live in downtown Washington, DC just blocks from the national mall and the White House. Living in DC, students have the opportunity to see famous movers and shakers from the media industry up close and personal.

Once a week SIWJ visits media organizations in Washington, DC to see first hand how the industry is changing.

Internships
Internships are the best way for students to gain experience in a given field. Interns in our program do not fetch coffee or make photocopies, SIWJ interns walk away with real life experience and actual pieces for a personal portfolio.
